National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Microorganisms (NBAIM) was established through a funded project sponsored by the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture (Government of India) in the IX Plan in 2001 under the auspices of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The basic goal of the Bureau is to promote and coordinate systematic and scientific research in the area of agriculturally important microorganisms (AIMs) in order to improve the agricultural productivity.
"To act as the nodal Institute at national level for acquisition and management of indigenous and exotic microbial genetic resources for food and agriculture, and to carry out related research and human resource development, for sustainable growth of agriculture"
The vision of the Bureau is based on using its resources and experiences as a Microbial Resource Center to become the pioneer in the management of standard microbial reference materials, intellectual property resources and translational research as applied to the development, standardization and certification of biomaterial.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess Ph.D in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Bioinformatics or M.Sc in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Bioinformatics or Master in Computer Application (MCA) with two years of experience.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on their performance in interview.

Maximum age limit is 40 years for RA (relaxation in age as per GOI/ ICAR norms);The services of the appointed candidate will be terminated automatically after the expiry of the project i.e. 31st Mar, 2014 or completion of period of appointment indicated in the offer, whichever is earlier.
